What to Expect from Silverstone MotoGP?
MotoGP is all set to resume after its summer break. The next instalment of the MotoGP series is set to take place at the Silverstone circuit. This circuit is one of the fastest venues and has a history of hosting some of the key iconic MotoGP races since 2010.
Now, the intriguing question arises around Yamaha, since it made a mistake at Assen which will lead to Fabio Quartararo serving a long lap penalty at Silverstone GP this weekend. Not only Fabio, but Silverstone GP will be a fresh challenge for another Yamaha RNF rider Darryn Binder. This race will be a debut for Binder in the premier category.
The victory at Assen for Ducati and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) served as the ideal cap to the first half of the season. It was exactly what was required after a crash out in Germany, and although Bagnaia still faces a significant deficit in the title match, an error-free number 63 is always a viable candidate.
Jack Miller, a teammate, will also be anxious to return to the podium after finishing fourth in the Dutch TT, but Marco Bezzecchi, another Ducati rider, was also there (Mooney VR46 Racing Team).
Bezzecchi has consistently stood out among rookies in races so far in 2022, but following his astonishing rostrum result at Assen, he is now far ahead in the race for Rookie of the Year and a rider to seriously keep an eye on.
This year, teammate Luca Marini has also developed some momentum and form, and Silverstone will provide him with another chance to push himself further ahead.
Meanwhile, at Aprilia, things are looking well for Silverstone GP. Since its debut at the MotoGP, Aprilia has achieved some incredible feats. After recovering at Assen, Aleix Espargaro will have an edge as his rival Fabio will have to serve an extra penalty lap at Silverstone.
