Alex Rins Joins LCR Honda

After Suzuki announced its departure from MotoGP, everyone was worried about Alex Rins. Well, now Rins’ position in MotoGP is clear. Alex Rins’ two-year deal with Honda Racing Corporation has been signed, and the LCR Honda CASTROL Team is happy to share this news.

The 26-year-old Barcelona native finished third overall in the 2020 MotoGP World Championship and has established himself as a constant front-runner in all Grand Prix classes. Rins made his Moto3 World Championship debut in 2012 with Honda, competing for the lightweight and intermediate championships each year before moving up to the premier division in 2017. Rins brings a wealth of experience to HRC and the LCR Honda CASTROL Team, having collected 15 victories, including three in the premier class, and a total of 55 podium finishes, 15 of which were in MotoGP.

Alex Rins said, “I am very happy to be joining the LCR Honda Team. Changing team and bike is a challenge but I am ready to give my 100% and to put into practice everything that I’ve learnt during my years in the MotoGP class. Lucio and Honda’s trust have been crucial for me in deciding to take on this challenge with this factory. I would like to thank them for this opportunity.”
