Ben Spies Enters AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame

Former MotoGP rider Ben Spies will be inducted into the “AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.” On October 28 in Pickerington, the former rider who won the WSBK world championship in 2009 will be recognised for his accomplishments.

Spies, who are renowned for his riding technique, has won the national title five times. The racer transitioned to MotoGP beginning with Tech3 after making history in 2009. To replace Valentino Rossi, who shared the garage with Jorge Lorenzo until the end of 2012, he joined the factory Yamaha team in 2011.

In 2013, Spies finished the first two races of the season while already donning the Pramac colours and sharing a team with Andrea Iannone. He was hurt and attempted to compete in the Indianapolis race in August, but a crash led to additional injuries, which forced him to miss the rest of the season. He would declare his retirement from racing due to injuries in October of the same year.
