Esport WRC Finals Annouced
The EKO Acropolis Rally will go off on Thursday evening at the Athens Olympic Complex, where the globally broadcast of the Esport WRC Final will take place as a precursor. This will foster connections between the sim racing community and the real-world WRC.
Eight of the best drivers from the eSports Regular Season, which concludes with the penultimate round next weekend (Rally Finland from July 29 to August 1), qualify for the play-offs on September 7, with the top four moving on to the World Final 24 hours later.
The only driver to have thus far confirmed their place in Athens is 2020 champion Sami-Joe Abi Nakhle with two rounds left in the regular season. Up to three drivers from the team that won the 2022 Drivers’ Championship, Race Clutch, are anticipated to join him. They are Lohan “Nexl” Blanc, who has won the global championship three times, “Kriim,” and John “Izamusing” Harris.
The event will also include Playseat, Fanatec, and FlexIT as partners in addition to its flagship sponsor, AGON by AOC.
