F1 Engine Chief Partners with Yamaha!

Fabio Quartararo, the reigning world champion and leader in current points, has been quite critical of the lack of advancement Yamaha made with its 2022 bike during the winter.

In particular, Quartararo criticised the Yamaha bike’s continued inability to match the peak speed of its quicker competitors, which has been a problem for a while.

To remedy this, Yamaha has begun talking with former Ferrari and Toyota Formula 1 engine head Marmorini.

Meregalli claims that this demonstrates Yamaha’s desire to cooperate with companies outside of its boundaries and anticipates that this will start to bear fruit by the end of the year.

After disclosing two years ago that the Japanese technical department “did what it wanted,” nine-time motorcycle grand Prix world champion Valentino Rossi’s partnership with Yamaha through Marmorini, Ferrari Electronics represents a significant shift in the company’s mentality.
