Charles Leclerc went on Pole! And Carlos Sainz goes in second as Ferrari managed a front-row lockout! This is Ferrari’s first Formula 1 front-row lockout since Mexico 2019, where Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc started 1-2.
Speaking on the pole position, Charles said,” It’s amazing. Today went well, we’re starting on a pole so we need to finish the job tomorrow”

Verstappen Struggles
Max Verstappen failed to get a decent time but his car looked competitive, he finished 0.005s behind Carlos Sainz. He starts in P3 and his teammate Perez starts in P4.
Max lamented his performance and said “ “To be that competitive in qualifying I was actually surprised. I think we did a really good job, but we have to start making the weekends a little less difficult”

Q1 got off on a sunny afternoon in Miami.
Track temperature touched a blistering 53° c as all drivers started on the soft compound tyre.
With five minutes left, Hamilton was sitting in 17th and pitted for a new set of soft tyres. He then set a good time and was in 5th.
It’s getting dicey out there for Lewis Hamilton 😅

Valteri Bottas had an immense lap as the Finnish driver out qualified Lewis Hamilton. Bottas starts in P5 and Hamilton in P6 for tomorrow. Alpha Tauri had a great qualification. Both cars made it to Q3 and will start P7 & P9 in tomorrow’s race. Lance stroll managed to place the Aston Martin in Q3 and will be happy with that result. There was also an issue between Alonso and Sainz where Alonso felt that Sainz had impeded him, however, the stewards said that there was no investigation necessary
