Max wins in Miami, Leclerc second, Lando crashes out.

Amidst the drama and flair that Miami offered, the Formula 1 race provided us with entertainment! Max Verstappen had a dominant display and won the inaugural Miami Grand Prix. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc tried his best but he could not match the pace of the Redbull.

Early problems

And we had issues even before the race started. Aston Martin reported issues with their fuel supply systems s and both of the cars started the race from the pits.

Charles Leclerc sat on the pole, and his race wins have come only from when he started on the pole. Max Verstappen who started in p3 managed to overtake Carlos Sainz at the first corner itself to go into P2.  Leclerc got off to a flying start as well and was soon into the lead. The first lap went about without too much drama and contact.

Russell Consistency

Alonso got off to a gear start, making up 3 positions and he had a great race, however, he was slapped with a 5s penalty for leaving the track, this meant that he finished the race in P 11, out of the points.

The Mercedes Duo of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell managed to have a good race. Russell started from P 12 and finished the race in P5 following a gamble on his hard tyres. This means that Russell is still the only driver to get a top 5 finish in ALL RACES this season. Hamilton finished just behind him in P6.

Early on in the race, the Alfa Romeo of Zhou was forced to retire after mechanical issues. However, his teammate Valteri Bottas finished in 7th, behind the Mercedes, Redbull and Ferrari cars.

Max Attack

Verstappen waited patiently and by lap 8 he started to attack. He overtook Charles Leclerc and there was no looking back as he began to open up the lead. Sergio Perez too looked to be fighting with Carlos Sainz for the last podium place, but the Redbull driver had power issues and lost a considerable amount of power, Redbull reported that it was almost 26 HP less. He still managed a brilliant race and finished in P4.

Lando Drama

From then on the race seemed to be going smoothly, without any issues, but a Lando Norris accident changed all of that.
Lando Norris made contact with Pierre Gasly and the safety car was called onto the track. The massive contact forced both cars to retire from the race. Almost everyone pitted under the Safety car and the racing was on 9 laps later.

Charles Leclerc tried to retake 1st pace, but Max Verstappen remained calm and cool and sealed the first-ever Miami GP win!

Seb goes for a spin

The Aston Martins who started from the pits had a great race. Lance stroll managed to finish in the points and Sebastian Vettel was having a charging race before he got knocked out by Mick Schumacher.
