How does the Future of Marc Marquez Look Like After the Surgery?

Marc Marquez has decided to come back to the racing tracks once again. After different speculations by Repsol Honda fans, Marc’s decision to return to premier motorcycle racing after a long surgery was indeed exciting. But, will we witness the same aggression and charm of the ace MotoGP champion, let’s find out.

The wide variety of possibilities Marc Marquez juggles in his thoughts during the vital weeks of his most recent voyage back to fitness was highlighted in this week’s interview with the official MotoGP website.

The best-case scenario is that you get fit soon enough to participate in at least two races in late 2022 and then fully contribute to Honda’s preparations for 2023, possibly even taking the lead as it returns to title contention the following year.

Marquez has been unstoppable when it comes to winning the titles of MotoGP. Even repeated injuries could not stop him from giving tough competition to his rivals on the track. With the arm injury, he sustained in Jerez in 2020, which was made worse by his foolish decision to race again just one week after breaking the bone, as well as by an infection he contracted while recovering. There were also two concussions in late 2021 and early 2022, which both led to a return of the double vision he’d first experienced in Moto2 in 2011, and the realisation that the damage to his arm was still so severe that a final, drastic surgery was needed this year to get it.

Despite every odds, the champion was undefeatable when he came on the tracks. One thing is clear from the recent interview of Marc Marquez, he is not rushing for the recovery. He is taking his sweet time to recover from his recent surgery and aiming for a long time uninterrupted racing career for the rest of the year.

He said, ” The most important thing is that the bone is healing in a good way. Step by step I start with the rehabilitation and just running and training and working in the gym. Going in easy mode at the moment. About cardio, I’m already working hard to try to improve and to try to be ready. At the end of August it will be the 12th week after the operation. That is when they will check how the bone is inside. So as soon as I feel ready to ride the bike at an acceptable level, I will start riding, because to reach 100% you need to ride the bike. Because in the end, on the bike you use specific muscles.”

Marc Marquez also addressed the news about him coming back to the MotoGP in August by saying that he is still looking up to the road of recovery. He just wants to participate in some of the races of 2022, so that he can take up the development of Honda’s 2023 MotoGP bike.

Whatever the case might be, the time and the healing process will only decide the future of Marc Marquez in the 2022 MotoGP remaining races.
