Jos Verstappen Wants to Drive Rally 1 Cars!

Jos Verstappen, father of Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen showed his potential during his debut rally at Ypres. He tried to maintain the 25th position during his entire race and led the master cup class in his Citroen C3 Rally2 car.

After running off-road at stage 13th, he stood at the 60th position overall. Even if Jos managed to close the race at 60th position, he was ahead of former champions such as Kalle Rovanpera and Craig Breen.

It was Jos Verstappen’s fifth WRC race overall and first at the grounds of Ypres. It was commendable what he could achieve given that Ypres is one of the toughest stages of WRC.

With morale boosted, Jos Verstappen said that he had to retire at stage 13 after he went off-road, or else he could have secured a higher position on the chart. He also said that he would like to try Rally 1 cars but will not like to go against Rally 1 drivers, as they are better trained than him at the moment.
