Justus Räikkönen might be the new WRC champion

Ott Tänak and Kalle Rovanperä are the centres of the attraction at the Rally Finland. While everyone is looking out for the two champions of the WRC racing, one racer has come up with exceptionally well skillsets, Justus Räikkönen. Justus Räikkönen is the nephew of 2007 Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen. Having racing DNA, it is quite natural that he is more than apt to take on his debut at WRC Rally Finland.

He is driving a Peugeot 208 Rally4 car and closed the rally with a lead of around 20 minutes. Considering that rally Finland is his debut race and how most of the racers get nervous when they hit the track, Justus has proved his mettle otherwise.

He put in a lot of work in the weeks leading up to this weekend’s rally to make sure he could stay up with his co-driver Mikael Korhonen.

The young Finn’s final destination is still up in the air, but one thing is for certain: if his performance so far this weekend is any indication, he might be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. He’s a driver to keep an eye on over the next years.
