Mumbai to get 3 new race tracks soon

Mumbai Falcons India Racing Limited CEO Moid Tungekar stated intentions to unveil three additional racetracks to be built in India before the end of the year. The circuits are aiming for an FIA Grade 2 accreditation, which would allow them to race single-seaters up to Formula 2 and sports cars up to the World Endurance Championship.

Although a Quality 3 certification would be more cost-effective, Moid adds that a Grade 2 certification is being pursued because of the “safety considerations that Grade 2 gives since it’s a higher grade circuit. The facility is designed to be safer, and that is our major goal: to ensure that any form of racing that takes place at our facilities meets the greatest safety requirements.

Moid also stated that the tracks will focus on track days, allowing fans to develop their driving talents in the safe environment of a racetrack. The tracks’ intentions will be revealed before the end of this year, though no formal dates have been set yet.

This is good news for Indian motorsport enthusiasts, who have been promised a slew of new courses since last year. The Mumbai Falcons are participating in both the under-construction Nanoli Speedway near Pune and the COASTT track near Coimbatore. This development, together with the other projects already revealed, would raise the total number of racetracks in India to 12!

Some great exciting time is waiting for Indian racing enthusiasts. With new race tracks with a state of the art facilities, Indian racing enthusiasts will definitely get a push.
