New equations after practise results of Idonesian MotoGP

Welcome to the second race of MotoGP season 2022. Things have already started to heat up post the Lusail race. If the season opener was anything to go by then we have lots to talk about. The present race which is being held in Indonesia at Mandalika race circuit after a gap of about lot of years would bring in some new stories surely. Now the race in itself which is going to happen on Sunday definitely would come with much more than that. However, before that let us get to the qualifying that happened today and was surely full of events. So, let’s begin with the big news. That is Monster Yamaha rider Franco Morbidelli has been penalized three grip places for breaking the rules in terms of starting. He positioned himself before the other riders who were already there before.

However, the drama does not end there. In the qualifying today the Frenchman Quartararo got the pole position. He got it after a long time since Catalunya in 2019. That calls for a celebration for this French rider. Jorge Martin who came second today in qualifying being his third consecutive front row start. Overall, that is his sixth front row start in his MotoGP career and the first time he is not in pole position. His Pramac racing team mate Zarco for the first time got a front row seat being third. This comes after Germany last year but he would like to win and be on podium since Catalunya last year.

Now if we look outside the pole positions too there is plenty to talk about. Ducati has had a reasonable outing here with Franceso Bagnaia getting sixth place. Although he has missed out successively to be in the front row. When it comes to Suzuki despite having snag Alex Rins came in eight which is commendable and he still stands an outside chance to be on podium. Now befoe you guys are wondering that where is Marc Marquez well for his fans there is a terrible news. He had one of the worst sessions with him finshing at 14th. It is one of the worst perfprmances of Honda in the recent times, so as we get past the qualifying highlights let us try to understand what are the possibilities that can actually happen.

There are a lot of things at stake here. First and foremost, there is a huge chance for the Frenchman to have a really great chance at finishing this race on top of the podium. The racing circuit of Indonesia surely has a lot of surprises waiting. The Frenchman surely would have some stiff competition from Pramac motorsports team. Their two riders who are in the second and the third position would surely be breathing down the neck of Quartaro and it is not going to be easy for him. Binder from Red Bull KTM team would also be there in the reckoning being fourth in practise and Ducati’s Franceso and Bastianini fighting it out as well from 5th and 6th place.
