Paddon comes back to WRC!

Paddon comes back to WRC!

After an outstanding showing in the most recent round of the FIA European Rally Championship, Hayden Paddon is prepared for his eagerly awaited return to World Rally Championship racing at Rally Estonia next week. Paddon, the lone New Zealander to have triumphed in a World Rally Championship race, placed sixth overall in the Tet Rally Liepaja last weekend, which was held on fast gravel roads in western Latvia.

Since his final WRC appearance at Wales Rally GB in 2019, the trip was his first gravel start in Europe.

Before Estonia, where he will compete in the lower-level WRC2, Paddon said the Latvian rally gave him the chance to learn and improve his Hyundai i20 N Rally2.

Paddon and his team are based out of the ALM Motorsport headquarters close to Tallinn, the city of Estonia.

Before the rally, the crew intends to completely restore the vehicle, paying special attention to the Hyundai’s handling components.

Rally Estonia, the seventh round of the 2022 World Rally Championship, starts on Thursday, July 14 and ends on Sunday, July 17.
