Pol Espargaro Rants out on Repsol Honda

Pol Espargaro Rants out on Repsol Honda

After spending considerable time with the Repsol Honda team in MotoGP, Pol Espargaro has decided to shift to KTM with Tech3 next year after signing a two-year deal.

According to a recent interview of Pol Espargaro, among many reasons, Honda itself was a reason for his switch. Honda entered the 2022 MotoGP season with a completely redesigned bike intended to address the rear grip issues it had been experiencing in recent years. During the preseason, riders initially praised the package.

However, despite the improvement claimed by LCR Honda, Pol Esparagaro has been unable to secure a podium, apart from Qatar Grand Prix, in the 2022 MotoGP season so far.

According to Espargaro, the main reason behind the below-average performance of LCR Honda this year is that the parent company in Japan is not much interested in its racing component. As per Espargaro, Honda in Japan is not interested in MotoGP, and it is lacking a muscle to show. It is highly unlikely that after so many years in the racing business, the Japanese company is sinking while the Italians are soaring.

Well, the recent outburst of Espargaro after he failed to deliver his full potential at the British Grand Prix is understandable as he has been asking Honda LCR for certain improvements for a long time now.

In the other corner of the official Honda garage, Stefan Bradl, who is taking Marc Marquez’s place as he recovers from his fourth major arm surgery, claims that his racing is affecting HRC’s test schedule.

According to Stefan Bradl, ” They are testing in Japan more and more. Obviously, they had to prepare the Suzuka 8 Hours as well, so finally I’m happy they won the race. So, maybe they have some more capacity now for MotoGP again and this is good.”

Bradl also said that Honda’s victory in the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race last weekend hadn’t benefited the MotoGP side either.
