Red Bull KTM Confirms Pro Motocross Calender
Red Bull KTM announced their lineup for the Pro Motocross Championship’s 50th anniversary this summer. Aaron Plessinger and Max Vohland, who was injured during the Supercross season, are expected to complete the entire series. Tony Cairoli and Ryan Dungey are also in for the first two rounds, but we expect them to stick around if the results are good. Cooper Webb said on the DMXS podcast that he will not be performing this summer. Webb has battled with the new bike, switching training regimes, and a rumoured ailment that caused him to miss the round in St. Louis.
He is nearing the conclusion of his contract with the KTM team, but he is expected to return in 2023. Marvin Musquin is also in the final year of his one-year Supercross contract. This season, he is the “team captain” at KTM, and he has suggested that he would race again next year. Below is a link to the news release.
With the much-anticipated return of team riders Aaron Plessinger and Max Vohland for the summer, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team is ready to take on the 50th Anniversary of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. The 12-round series begins later this month in Pala, California, with multi-time World MX Champion Tony Cairoli and nine-time AMA Supercross and Motocross Champion Ryan Dungey set to compete with the Red Bull KTM colleagues in the preliminary rounds. After missing the latter half of the supercross season due to a broken arm, Plessinger is back and ready to compete in the 450MX Championship this year. Plessinger is riding the new KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, which he finished second on at this year’s Oakland SX, and is looking to add to the 250MX title he earned in 2018.
Max Vohland of Red Bull KTM will compete in his second full season in the 250MX class riding the KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION after a season-ending injury in supercross. Vohland, who finished in the top ten during his first season in 2021, will look to improve this season by battling upfront in all 12 rounds.
Cooper Webb of Red Bull KTM has declared that he will not compete in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship in 2022. This summer, the two-time 450SX Champion will focus on welcoming a new addition to his family before returning to work in preparation for a third career championship fight in the AMA Supercross Championship in 2023.
