Tanak is Frustrated with Hyundai
This WRC season has been quite a ride for the Hyundai team. The team had to endure everything from the principal leaving to struggling to develop and adapt the rally cars as per the latest WRC mandates and trends.
But, things are looking better for the Hyundai team. Before last weekend’s historic 1-2-3 finish at the Acropolis Rally Greece, Hyundai was already considering its options for 2023, as per deputy team director Julien Moncet.
This season’s lineup for the Hyundai WRC team included Thierry Neuville and Tanak, with the recent entry of Oliver Solberg and Dani Sordo. Even though Tanak has made a contract with Hyundai to stay for the next year, speculations of him leaving the Hyundai team and joining the Ford M-Sport team are making rounds.
Tanak has always shown his displeasure and annoyance with the Hyundai team. He has also criticised the team principal Moncet and said that he lacks the skillsets to be a proper team principal. Then in Greece, he was asked to lock his position which made him finish second in the rally.
With all the frustration with the team, if Tanak leaves Hyundai, it will not come as a surprise.
