Three Best Races of MotoGP 2022

Three Best Races of MotoGP 2022

The Qatar GP, Argentina GP, and Dutch TT are three of the best races we’ve seen so far in 2022, so we thought it would be nice to reflect on them during the summer vacation. In yet another incredible season of MotoGPTM competition, there were three outstanding clashes. Here is a brief recap of those three rounds:

Qatar GP

Simply said, it was a creation of beauty from the beast. Just over a year after the terrible departure of their hero and leader, Fausto Gresini, the Gresini team experienced an emotional night as Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing MotoGPTM) won his first premier class race in Qatar.

Pol Espargaro of the Repsol Honda Team had led the race for the majority of the time, but Bastianini’s late-race pace proved to be too hot to handle in the closing laps as the Italian eliminated Marc Marquez, Brad Binder, and ultimately Pol Espargaro. With Espargaro taking the podium in third, Binder earned P2.

Argentina GP

At the 2022 Argentina Grand Prix, history was created. Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia Racing clinched the pole position for Sunday’s action at the jam-packed Termas de Rio Hondo track, setting the stage for Aprilia’s first victory in the premier class since the 2015 Catalan GP.

Jorge Martin and Aleix Espargaro engaged in a riveting battle for victory (Prima Pramac Racing). At Turn 5, Espargaro made two unsuccessful tries before making one move stick and staying faultless the rest of the race. The number 41 eventually won his first Grand Prix and Aprilia’s debut race in the elite division by 0.8s as Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Alex Rins edged his teammate Joan Mir to finish third.

Dutch TT

On this day, the title race’s momentum underwent a significant turn. The current World Champion Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGPTM) made a costly mistake for the first time in 2022. Aleix Espargaro, the Frenchman’s closest competitor, was attempting to go up the inside of him when the Spaniard crashed down in the gravel. Espargaro managed to escape crashing as well.

Aleix Espargaro finished an astounding P4 by overtaking both Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) on the final lap at the famed Geert Timmer Chicane. He was only a little more than two seconds behind Pecco. Quartararo’s lead has been reduced to only 21 points as we approach the summer break thanks to Assen, who consistently delivers.
