Triton Ralliart: Mitsubishi Motors’ new take on AXCR 2022

Mitsubishi came up with its all-new Triton Ralliart earlier this week. Well, the Japanese Automobile giant has now released a rally-specific version of Triton, which will participate in the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2022. The AXCR will commence in Thailand from August 6 to August 12.

The FIA has validated the AXCR as a cross-country rally event. The race is mostly conducted in Thailand, and it takes place in the hot and humid atmosphere that is unique to Southeast Asia, as well as on challenging off-road courses in the highlands and forests. MMC plans to use the information gained from this rally to improve its body and chassis stiffness, controllability, and off-road performance, according to the company.

Team Mitsubishi Ralliart (TMR) will campaign this Triton, with technical backing from Mitsubishi Motors. TMR is a private team owned by Tant Sports in Thailand, which has named Hiroshi Masuoka, a two-time Dakar Rally winner, as team director.

Hiroshi Masuoka the veteran Mitsubishi Dakar Rally driver said, “For many years, Mitsubishi Motors competed in the World Rally Championship and the Dakar Rally, winning championships in both of them and improving the driving performance of Mitsubishi cars that can be enjoyed with peace of mind in any weather or road conditions.”

As per Masuoka, Mitsubishi motors’ participation in the AXCR will strengthen the company’s product uniqueness, especially in the ASEAN region. Mitsubishi is planning to launch a heavy-duty pickup truck line-up in the South-East Asian regions.

In November 2021, Mitsubishi resurrected the Ralliart name and began selling special versions in Thailand and additional components in Japan. Ralliart is now doing exactly what its name promises.

With all the hype around the new line-up by Mitshubishi, we can only hope that it lives up to its expectations in the upcoming AXCR series.
