UK is Out of WRC Race Once Again!
Next year WRC will be having a 14-event championship. WRC is aiming to reiterate the current WRC format with the pre-Covid format. Therefore the upcoming WRC event will have six flyway rounds and eight European rallies.
With the upcoming Rally format, one more thing is sure. UK is out of the WRC host list once again. It was in Wales Rally GB in 2019, when the UK last hosted a WRC event. The reason behind the UK being out of the race is that the event could not secure support and funding from the Government.
For the past two years, the WRC has closely collaborated with Bobby Willis, the businessman who organises Rally Northern Ireland, to make the plan a reality.
The rally was given a spot in August of 2022, but the bid failed because Motorsport UK’s deadline for securing funding from the Northern Ireland government was missed.
