Rins Warns Nakagami to Change his Riding Style

Rins Warns Nakagami to Change his Riding Style

Over the events of the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona, an irate Alex Rins has lashed out at competitor Taka Nakagami and the MotoGP stewards panel.

Nakagami crashed at the start of the race, knocking out Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Rins, with Bagnaia’s Ducati being hit by Nakagami’s head and Rins being thrown off his Suzuki after colliding with the Japanese rider’s Honda.

In the aftermath, both Nakagami and Rins had to go to the hospital. According to an initial assessment, the former escaped “severe head injuries” but had discomfort in his right shoulder, while the latter suffered what he assumed was a left wrist fracture, which was subsequently verified by an MRI scan.

It was the second MotoGP race in a row that Nakagami collided with Rins, ending the latter’s race, and while Rins expressed sympathy for his rival’s misery, he made it obvious that Nakagami’s aggression needed to be reined in.

He also seemed to indicate that he had campaigned for a suspension for the Japanese, similar to what Moto3’s Deniz Once received last year and that the MotoGP stewards’ panel, overseen by former 500cc champion Freddie Spencer, was simply not up to the task.
